DAY 2: SUKHOTHAI - PHISANULOK - NAKHON SAWAN - ANG THONG - BANGKOK, Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Phisanulok. (B.L.)

Day 1

BANGKOK - AYUTTHAYA - SUKHOTHAI. Bang Pa In, Ayutthaya Historical Park, Sukhothai Historical Park (L.)

At 07:00, meeting with the guide and departure for the discovery of the ancient capital of Thailand.

Bang Pa In is reached with a short journey of about 60 kilometers (40 miles) north of Bangkok, along the banks of the Chaopraya River, Bang Pa In is one of the summer palaces of the Royal Family of Thailand. The palace dates back to the seventeenth century, before the settlement of Bangkok as the capital, which then fell into disuse for a long period. All the buildings you will visit date back to its rebirth, made possible by King Mongkut (Rama IV) in the nineteenth century.

We proceed with the Ayutthaya Historical Park, the city was founded in the year 1350 Ca. and became the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai.

It flourished from the 14th to the 18th centuries, during which it became one of the largest and most cosmopolitan urban areas in the world and a center of diplomacy and global trade. Ayutthaya was strategically located on an island surrounded by three rivers that connected the city to the sea. This site was chosen because it was above the Gulf of Siam tide as it existed in that period, thus preventing the attack of the city by maritime warships from other nations

13: 00-13: 30 LUNCH

In the afternoon we arrive at Sukhothai Historical Park. The park is open daily and also offers tram service as well as bicycles for rent to explore the vast area. Main places of interest are: The city walls are located in the center of the historic park and are surrounded by ramparts. The rectangular city measures 1330 meters in width and 1800 meters in length. The walls contain four main gates. An inscription on the stone mentions that King Ramkhamhaeng placed a bell on one of the gates. If his subjects had needed help, they could have rang the bell and the King would have gone out to make decisions on disputes and to dispense justice. Inside the city there are 35 monuments including Buddhist temples and many other structures, including The Royal Palace and Wat Mahathat. Arrival at the hotel in Sukhothai at around 17:30. Overnight

Day 2

SUKHOTHAI - PHISANULOK - NAKHON SAWAN - ANG THONG - BANGKOK, Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Phisanulok. (B.L.)

Meeting with the Guide at about 08:00.

At around 9.15 am, arrival in Phisanulok to visit the famous Phra Sri Mattana Mahatat temple,

The Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Temple which everyone calls "Wat Yai" houses the Buddha Chinarat. Buddha statue which is considered the most beautiful in Thailand.

Phra At tharot is an image of a standing Buddha statue in an attempt to persuade relatives not to quarrel, with a height of 9 meters, it was built in the same period as Buddha Chinarat. The Buddha in Nirvana is an ancient Ayutthaya relic. It is considered a masterpiece of the Buddha, and is probably the only one in Thailand.

Departure for Nakhon Sawan, a small town whose origins date back to prehistoric times, and it is also where the Chao Phraya River is formed which is the confluence of four rivers, Ping, Wang, Yom and Nan, originating in northern Thailand. The Ping and Wang rivers join in Tak province and become Ping River.

Continue to Ang Thong, where we visit Wat Muang temple, This temple located in Ang Thong, about ten kilometers from the city center, is best known for its huge 95-meter-high seated golden Buddha. It is the tallest in the country.
