INDICATIVE ITINERARY

06:30 -07: 00 - Meeting with the Guide in the hotel lobby and departure.

08:00 - ARRIVAL AT THE RAILWAY MARKET

Mae Klong Railway Market (Hoop Rom Market) is a local market in Samut Songkhram Province, commonly called Siang Tai (life-threatening) market. It is considered to be one of the great attractions of Thailand. Spread over a length of 100 meters, the market is located close by on the railway near Mae Klong Railway Station. It is a common fresh market that sells seafood, vegetables, fruits, fresh and dry foods, meats and other sundries.

The market is called the "life-threatening" market because its stalls are connected to the Mae Klong-Ban Laem railway, which is a short railway line to and from Mahachai and Mae Klong. The vendors at the market have put up umbrellas or canvases to protect themselves from the sun. Shelters stick into the railroad where visitors walk and shop. When every signal of the oncoming train rings, chaos occurs: the vendors will rush to close their parasols and their canvases, eliminating all the goods that will obstruct the oncoming train. Once the train has passed, the umbrellas and canvases will be reopened when the goods are once again placed in their usual place next to the railway.

09: 15—09: 30 - DAMNEN SADUAK FLOATING MARKET

Arrival at the pier and with a long tail boat in about 30 minutes of travel between the canals, you will reach the Floating Market.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Ratchaburi is one of the most popular floating markets in Thailand. Every day many Thai and foreign tourists come here to shop, eat and soak up the atmosphere of Thailand's water markets built over 100 years ago.

Klong Damnoen Saduak

Damnoen Saduak is the straightest and longest canal in Thailand. The canal was built on royal initiative as Thailand's King Rama IV wanted to connect the Mae Klong River with the Chinese river routes to support transportation and trade. It took over 2 years to excavate, and was eventually completed under the reign of his successor King Rama V. The canal is 32 kilometers long and has more than 200 branches.

The popularity of the Damnoen Saduak floating market grew to new heights in 1971 - 1973, when the river was filled with farmers on their boats selling their wares. And this is how the trade is done in this area to this day.

Around 11: 00-11: 30 departure for Bangkok

12:00 - 12:30 - Stop for lunch at a local restaurant.

13:30 - 15:30 ROYAL PALACE

Located in the heart of Bangkok, the Grand Palace was an ancient residence for King Rama I and King Rama V of the kingdom of Rattanakosin. Today, the place is used to host royal ceremonies and welcome guests of the king, guests of the state and other foreign dignitaries. It is also a place where the remains of kings and high-ranking members of the royal family were located prior to cremation.

The Royal Palace is divided into two main areas, which are the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the royal residence. The latter is divided into three main areas: the External Court, the Central Court and the Internal Court.

The Outer Court runs from Wiset Chai Si Gate to Phiman Chai Si Gate and includes the interior walls of the Royal Palace. It is now the home of several state offices such as the Bureau of the Royal Household, the office of her Majesty's chief private secretary and the office of the Royal Institute.

The Central Court starts from Phiman Chai Si Gate to Sanam Ratchakit Gate. The area is where important royal ceremonies such as the royal coronation and the royal coronation day ceremony take place. In the Middle Court area are the Phra Maha Monthien Buildings, the Chakri Maha Prasat Buildings, the Phra Maha Prasat Buildings and the Siwalai Gardens District.

The Inner Court begins at the Sanam Ratchakit Gate at Thaew Teng, the row houses that were formerly the palace walls during the reign of King Rama I. The southern area of the Inner Court was then a female-only area; no man except the king was allowed to enter the area, where the queens, wives, mothers consorts and daughters of the king lived together with many ladies and servants. The area has no longer served as a residence nowadays.

16: 00-17: 00 WAT PHO

Wat Pho is not only one of the most visited Buddhist temples in Bangkok, it is also the combination of history, medical science and educational institution. Officially baptized Wat Prachetuphon Vimon Mangkararam, Wat Pho was founded during the 16th century and later became the Royal Temple of King Rama I of the Chakri dynasty. Located within the main ordination hall is the 46-meter reclining sacred Buddha, whose feet are beautifully inlaid with mother-of-pearl, carved with sacred signs. Wat Pho is, among Thais, also known as "the nation's first public university", thanks to 1,360 marble inscriptions on medical, historical and liberal sciences found throughout the temple where people can read and learn at any time . Marble inscriptions on medical sciences, anatomy and orthopedics are the origins of the traditional massage principles of Wat Pho Thai, which made Wat Pho a world famous site. Traditional service, nowadays, is also available at the nearby pavilion. in 2008, Wat Pho was named UNESCO World Memory (MOW) as a documentary heritage for Asia and the Pacific region.

PLEASE NOTE, APPROXIMATE TIMES. The Royal Palace closes the entrance at 3:30 pm (Exit close at 05:00 pm), the Temples close at 5:00 pm.
