BANGKOK - AMPAWA FLOATING MARKET, WAT BAN KUNG, FIREFLIES - HALF DAY ONLY FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY
Day 1
14:00 Approx. Meeting with the guide and departure for the AMPAWA Floating Market.
Amphawa Floating Market is one of Thailand's floating markets, old and very popular with tourists. This floating market is also one of the main tourist attractions in Samut Songkhram. Because it is not far from Bangkok, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday the market will be crowded with tourists, especially locals, who come to enjoy canal views or taste some delicious food. All visitors can purchase fish, local Thai desserts, or souvenirs for friends and family. The boat trip allows you to admire the views and lifestyles along the Amphawa Canal and includes a stop at Wat Ban Kung, on the return stop to observe the fireflies on the cork trees in a fascinating night scene.
WAT BAN KHUNG
This temple is arguably the most iconic in the Amphawa district, known for its banyan tree roots and branches that have surrounded and blocked the building over the centuries, it houses a golden Buddha. The building dates back to the Ayutthaya period. It is externally and internally quite simple. These are the roots and leaves of the trees that surround and dominate the temple making it the trunk of a huge one. The Market offers a wide choice of dishes for dinner, free. You can choose from the many dishes on offer (excellent seafood) and pay the restaurant directly. Return to the hotel at approximately 9.00 pm. Return to the hotel at approximately 9.00 pm.
