PHUKET - JUNGLE AND ELEPHANTS. LUNCH

PHUKET - JUNGLE AND ELEPHANTS. LUNCH

Day 1

This tour takes place approximately 1.5 hours from Phuket in nearby Khao Lak Province. Here we will leave the island, through the bridge that connects it to the mainland and we will enter a completely different area.
Plantations of rubber, palm, pineapple and much more. Here the area is rich in streams and rivers, thick vegetation. You will have the opportunity to see the elephants in their natural area and not have to use areas built especially for tourists where the elephants are on the side of the road with the daily traffic.
The activities that will take place during the day will be the visit to the turtle farm, the place where the volunteers care for and help the turtle species that live in the Similan Islands not to become extinct. We will make a small descent on a river aboard bamboo rafts, observing the various animal species that inhabit this forest. A stop at the monkey temple, so called because in the outer part of this temple there are a myriad of monkeys who will be happy to take a banana from
you to give it to their little ones.
There will be a bath with the little elephant in the cool waters of a small river and have fun washing it and playing with it. There will also be a way to ride adult elephants and be taken into the forest where they will be happy to show you where they live.

The tiny Island of Koh Tao ("Turtle Island"), 45 km north of Koh Phangan, is one of the top scuba diving destinations in Thailand. Whats more, the island, which is the site of important breeding grounds for Hawksbill and Green turtles, is now a centre for environmentally friendly diving practices, including the reintroduction of hundreds of juvenile turtles to the island's ecosystem and efforts to preserve and grow coral reefs.

Fortunately, despite its quite small size, most of the Beaches around Koh Tao have retained a charming, laid back atmosphere and bungalows ranging from ultra-basic thatch roof to chic and boutique are available for those on any budget to enjoy the beauty of one of Thailands most spectacular Islands.

Non-divers can appreciate the beauty of Koh Tao, which seems relatively devoid of inhabitants while the majority of visitors are spending their days underwater, by taking a Boat Trip around the Island to visit Koh Taos many gorgeous Beaches and bays, hiking to the summit of the island, studying yoga, or simply relaxing in a hammock and enjoying the view of nearby Koh Nang Yuan, a spectacular attraction in its own right.

The highest peak on the island is Khao Salak Phet, rising from the ground at 743 meters, and given its mountainous terrain there is an abundance of waterfalls with the tallest but not always the most accessible being Klong Neung waterfall, which can be found in thesouth-eastern corner of the island.
