Day 2
DAY 2 - BANGKOK - BANG PA IN, AYUTTHAYA, CRUISE WITH LUNCH – Full Day (B.L.)
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet with the Italian guide and depart to discover the ancient capital of Thailand. The first visit is to Bang Pa In, reached by a short journey of about 60 kilometers north of Bangkok, along the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Bang Pa In is one of the summer palaces of the Thai Royal Family, dating back to the seventeenth century, before the establishment of Bangkok as the capital. Subsequently falling into disuse for a long period, all the buildings you will visit date back to its rebirth, made possible by King Mongkut (Rama IV) in the nineteenth century. Today, the palace is rarely used, mainly for state ceremonies, and not as a royal summer residence. We continue with the Ayutthaya Historical Park, the city founded around 1350, becoming the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai. It flourished from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century, becoming one of the world's largest and most cosmopolitan urban areas and a center of global diplomacy and trade. Ayutthaya was strategically located on an island surrounded by three rivers connecting the city to the sea. This site was chosen because it was above the tide of the Gulf of Siam as it existed at that time, preventing the city from being attacked by maritime warships of other nations. The city was attacked and razed to the ground by the Burmese army in 1767, forcing the inhabitants to abandon it. It was never rebuilt in the same location and today is a vast archaeological site, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991. After the temple visits, a beautiful cruise awaits us with lunch served on board. With the vehicle, we return to Bangkok to the Wat Chong-Lom pier (Nonthaburi), where you will be welcomed on board the Grand Pearl Cruise Line. Here, a sumptuous buffet lunch with a variety of Eastern and Western cuisines will be served while you relax, enjoying the fascinating scenery along the river of kings. The boat will then head towards Nonthaburi, passing the island of Koh Kred, where a dense Mon community lives, before reaching the city of Bangkok. Coffee will be served on board as you enjoy the lovely views along the riverbanks, such as the colorful Royal Barge House, Thammasart University, Sirirat Hospital, the Royal Grand Palace, and the graceful Temple of the Dawn, with its magnificent spire of 79 meters, next to Wat Kallayanamitr, one of the city's most famous temples. Around 16:00, arrival and disembarkation at the River City commercial complex pier. Transfer to the hotel by air-conditioned vehicle.
Day 3
DAY 3 - BANGKOK - Maeklong Railway, Damnoern Saduak - Half Day (B.)
Breakfast at the hotel. At 06:30-07:00, meet with the Italian-speaking guide and depart for a beautiful day of visits to the nearby provinces of Song Khram and Ratchaburi, about 100 km from Bangkok. We start with the Railway Market (Hoop Rom Market), commonly known as Siang Tai Market (at your own risk). It stretches over a length of 100 meters, located on the railway near Mae Klong Railway Station. Next, we head to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. We arrive at the pier and, with a long-tail boat, navigate about 30 minutes through the canals to reach the Floating Market. Damnoen Saduak Market in Ratchaburi is one of the most popular floating markets in Thailand, where many Thai and foreign tourists visit every day to shop, eat, and absorb the atmosphere of the water markets built over a hundred years ago. Around 11:00, depart to return to Bangkok, with arrival at the hotel expected around 12:00. Afternoon free for individual and/or optional activities.
Day 4
DAY 4 - BANGKOK – UNUSUAL TOUR AMONG PALACES, TEMPLES AND KUDI CHEEN (B.L.)
Breakfast at the hotel and meeting with the Italian-speaking guide.
The day begins with a visit to the famous Wat Pho, known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. It is the oldest Buddhist monastery in Bangkok, renowned not only for its enormous reclining Buddha statue but also for hosting the country's oldest traditional Thai massage school.
Next, we will board a public ferry to cross the Chao Phraya River and reach the enchanting Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, one of the city's most iconic landmarks.
From here, a short walk will take us into the characteristic Kudicheen (Kudi Chin) district. We will continue on foot to explore this fascinating multicultural corner of Bangkok, where time seems to have stood still. We will visit the small local village and meet the community that has lived here for generations.
Highlights include:
The historic Thanusingha Bakery House, still producing famous Portuguese pastries, where a snack with coffee or tea and a brioche will be offered;
The Baan Kudi Chin Museum, telling the story of the community;
The picturesque Kuan An Keng Shrine, a small Taoist temple immersed in an exotic and spiritual atmosphere.
After exploring the neighborhood, transfer by car to a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious traditional Thai lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit the final highlight of the day: the majestic Royal Grand Palace, one of Thailand’s most fascinating architectural complexes. Inside is the famous Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, considered the most sacred site in the country.
The complex also includes the Chakri Palace (visitable only from the outside), the Dusit Palace, and the Montien Palace, accessible internally only during certain times of the year.
Return to the hotel is expected around 4:00 - 4:30 PM.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Appropriate attire is required for temple visits: shoulders and legs must be covered.
Please carry your passport, even a copy, as it may be requested at entrance checks.
The Royal Palace may be subject to full or partial closure without prior notice.
