Rest of the day available for individual activities

CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai province is in the north of Thailand. Chiang Mai's climate is always cooler than the rest of the country, with an average temperature of 25 ° C throughout the year. The city has a myriad of things to see and things to do. The beauty of the mountains, hill tribe villages and botanical gardens attract millions of tourists every year. You can also enjoy the zoo, with the aquarium and pandas, a night safari zoo, classic temples and northern Thai architecture which are a fusion of Lanna, Mon and Burmese styles.

Chiang Mai has a long history. It was once the capital of the Lanna Kingdom. Nowadays it is a modern city, but the center lends itself to beautiful walks.

Day 2

CHIANG MAI - Trekking, The Path of the Monks, Wat Palad & Wat Pratat Doi Suthep.

Breakfast. Lunch.

Breakfast at the hotel.

At 08:00 meeting with the guide and transfer to the starting point of this beautiful trek, often used by monks to reach the temples ...

The trail has a slight incline of medium difficulty and takes approximately 45 minutes from this point to Wat Pha Lat. Once you enter the path, you follow the trees wrapped in the orange cloth that the monks use to dress.

There are points where the trail itself becomes a picturesque scene filled with trees wrapped in orange. It's beautiful on its own, but once you meet some of the monks using the trail, the scene becomes something completely surreal and even enchanting. After about 45 minutes you will reach Wat Palad

Once in the temple, you will see that a 45 minute hike is nothing compared to what awaits you. It is difficult not to be amazed by the sight of the staircase adorned by two dragons that ends abruptly on the edge of the waterfall, not to be entranced by the serenity that this place emanates. Dragons, elephants and mystical creatures form an intrinsic part of the environment created by this temple. They mix the world with the otherworldly in a beautiful way.

The temple is well maintained, yet you can see how nature creeps and overflows in certain areas, making you feel almost in a forgotten land or time, surrounded only by the modesty and tranquility of the monks. True peace exists in this temple.

Wat Pha Lat, which means "Monastery on the sloping rock", was originally used as a resting place for people approaching Doi Suthep worship. But once the road was built in 1935, making Doi Suthep much more accessible; Wat Pha Lat, in turn, became a monk's residence.

From here, the trek continues for another 90 minutes to the top of Doi Suthep, undoubtedly the most famous temple in Chiang Mai. This part of the route is more challenging, however, as it is steeper and longer.

You won't feel the serenity and peace of Wat Pha Lat here, but this temple is worth seeing. Built in the early 19th century Buddhist, the beauty of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is marked by seven-headed snake statues flanking the stairs to the temple where a Chiang Saen-style golden pagoda is located and all of its exquisite architecture Lanna. The view of Chiang Mai from here is simply phenomenal.

Lunch is served in a local restaurant, the return to the hotel is scheduled at approximately 14:00. Time to relax in the hotel pool or for a walk in the town center, among the countless temples it hosts.

Day 3

CHIANG MAI - DOI INTHANON - MAE CHAEN (Home Stay Huay Pakoot). Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Today another beautiful day of hiking awaits you. At 08:00 meeting with the guide and departure for the Doi Inthanon National Park, the overnight stay is foreseen in homestay in a Karen village, where in addition to having the opportunity to see the processing and try to make handicraft products such as baskets in bamboo and weaving, you will have a great experience on elephants .. Karen are definitely the best "Mahout" (elephant trainers) in Thailand. Dinner, included, is served in the village.

Indicative itinerary:

08.00: Pick Up from the hotel

09:00: Arrive at the very popular Mae Klang Falls located in the southeast of Doi Inthanon National Park. The waterfall is surrounded by a picturesque river and gardens making it the perfect place for a morning stroll or an afternoon picnic. Located near the main entrance in the south of Doi Inthanon National Park. The water cascades about 30 meters along jagged rocks, then creeps into the river below. The Mae Klang River is large and it is possible to explore up and down the waterfall through well-trodden paths, although care must be taken especially during the rainy season when there are strong rapids in the river. There is a more relaxing area to swim near the parking area, along with the market-style stalls and stalls.

10.15: Continue to Wachirathan Falls, a spectacular waterfall often decorated with beautiful rainbows during the rainy season.

Wachirathan Waterfall is easily accessible from the main road through Doi Inthanon National Park. The main waterfall is about 50 meters high, and during the rainy season it is nothing short of spectacular. The viewing area around the main falls gets covered in spray which can bring colorful rainbows if the sun is covered. The area has a dramatic feel, with a sense of danger in the air, sticking to the paths, there will be no problems. There are 2 main viewing platforms and trails to the side and bottom areas of the falls.

11.15: Visit of the highest point in Thailand, with a short walk in the evergreen forest

12.15: Visit to the Pagodas dedicated to the King and Queen

13.30: Lunch Set Menu in restaurant or packed

16.30: Arrival at the Home Stay Huay Pakkoot.

You can observe and participate in the activities of the village. Free evening, dinner and overnight stay.

DOI INTHANON

Also known as "The Roof of Thailand", Doi Inthanon National Park covers an area of 482 km² in the Chiang Mai province of northern Thailand. The park is part of the Himalayan mountain range, with altitudes ranging between 800 and 2565 meters with the highest peak at Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand. Due to the high altitude, the park has high humidity and cold weather all year round. Average daily temperatures are normally around 10-12 ° C.

The park's main attractions are the summit of Doi Inthanon for its spectacular early morning views, several waterfalls, a few trails, and the two chedis (stupas) dedicated to the king and queen on 60th birthday anniversaries. Most of the waterfalls within the park have relatively good water flow all year round, but the best season is during the rainy season from May to November. One of the park's seasonal attractions is the blooming of Thai sakura which dye the trees pink during late January to February. The park is also one of the country's top destinations for bird lovers.

Day 4

HOME STAY HUAY PAKOOT - EXPERIENCE WITH ELEPHANTS - CHIANG MAI. Breakfast. Lunch

Breakfast in the village, today a really interesting day awaits you.

At first glance, Huay Pakoot appears to be engaged in a losing battle with the forest. Along the main road rest houses with sinking platforms that cling to the hill on spider-legged stilts. Chickens run haphazardly beneath them, gingerly watching local kittens dabbling in the nearby mud pools. Some houses have tin roofs and exterior walls; some are nothing more than wooden platforms with thatched roofs for protection from above. There is electricity, but only when the cables are not flooded during the rainy season.

And then there are the elephants.

According to the village tradition, the two brothers who founded Huay Pakoot had successfully escaped from Burma only with the help of a herd of elephants now living in the village. Today, around 20 elephants living in Huay Pakoot have become the heart of village life. The connection of the Karen with the land, with each other and with their history is intertwined with the relationship with the animals that they attribute to their survival. Karens and elephants have always been tied together. There is an indisputable link.

After a walk of about a couple of hours between corn and jungle crops, a direct experience in contact with these pachyderms awaits you.

Lunch will be cooked using bamboo sticks.

After lunch, return to Chiang Mai where the arrival at the airport is scheduled for 18:00 / Flight must be after 19:30.

End of services (OR OPTIONAL OVERNIGHT STAY IN CHIANG MAI)
