It is best known for its well-preserved traditional culture and village layout. While most of its residents have embraced modernity, its individual compounds are well-kept, with linear stone-paved street that runs through the centre of the village toward the village temple, and age-old arched entrance gates and walls that conceal the houses within. Then, we will proceed to Besakih (approx. 45-minutes’ drive), the most important and biggest temple of Bali. The temple was built in the 11th century at 1000m of altitude on the slopes of Mount Agung, Bali’s sacred volcano. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with a beautiful view of Bukit Jambul hills. After lunch, we will visit the incredible painted ceilings of the old Klungkung's palace of justice Kerta Gosa (approx. 45-minutes’ drive), where we can admire the ancient frescos that show old methods of punishment. At the end of the tour, return transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 3

Day 3- UBUD (B/L): At 08.00am, drive to the fascinating province of Tabanan. Our first stop will be at the Pura Luhur Batukaru, one of the six most important temples of the island. Built in the 13th century, it is located at the foot of the volcano. The temple is outstanding for the beauty of its surrounding nature, in the middle of the forest with thousands of different trees and flowers. Continue to Jatiluwih (approx. 30-minutes’ drive), a beautiful rice terraces, a UNESCO's World Heritage Site. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After lunch drive to Candikuning local market (approx. 45-minutes’ drive), where we will find tropical spices, flowers and fruits. Continue to Bedugul Lake, where we will visit the Pura Ulu Danu Beratan (approx. 5-minutes’ drive), which is situated in the plateau area, 1200m above sea level, with green hills as a backdrop. The temple is dedicated to the water goddess. At the end of the tour, return transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 4

Day 4- UBUD (B/L): At 08.00am, depart for Batubalan. Upon arrival at Batubalan, see the exciting Barong Dance, a traditional story-telling dance that portrays the eternal struggle between good and evil. After the performance (about 1 hour and 30 minutes), drive to Tegallalang (approx. 1-hour drive), one of the most beautiful rice terraces in Bali, where we will spend about 30 minutes. Afterwards, drive for about 5 minutes to Sebatu to visit the Holy Water temple. Continue the journey to Kintamani (approx. 30-minutes’ drive)  to admire the panorama over the crater of the Mount Batur and Lake Batur. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After lunch, we will visit Gunung Kawi Temple complex (approx. 30-minutes’ drive), locally referred to as Pura Gunung Kawi, one of Bali’s most unique archaeological sites, comprising a collection of ancient shrine reliefs carved into the face of a rock cliff. Before heading back to the hotel, we will reach the woodcarving village of Mas (approx. 1-hour drive), where many local craftsmen carve and sculpt woods. Finally, visit Batuan Village (approx. 10-minutes’ drive), well-known for its painting galleries. At the end of the tour, return transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Then proceed to the Royal Temple Taman Ayun in Mengwi (approx. 20-minutes’ drive). Built in 1634 by the King of Mengwi, the Royal Temple is bordered by broad canals and it can only be entered via a bridge leading to a richly ornamented gate which gives access to the courtyard of the temple. Taman Ayun (Beautiful Garden) features a typical Balinese architecture. Finally, head to the south coast of Bali to admire Tanah Lot Temple and the spectacular landscape that surrounds it (approx. 45-minutes’/1-hour drive). Tanah Lot was erected by the villagers in memory of the brahman Sait Nirartha, who is said to have engaged in a conversation with God for an entire night, right where the temple stands now.
