We start with the Royal Palace, founded in 1782, which includes not only royal halls and the throne but also numerous government offices and the famous Emerald Buddha Temple. It covers an area of 218,000 square meters and is surrounded by four walls, 1900 meters in length. We continue with the adjacent Wat Pho, not only one of Bangkok's most visited Buddhist temples but also a combination of history, medical science, and a school. Founded during the 16th century, it became the Royal Temple of King Rama I of the Chakri Dynasty. In 2008, Wat Pho was declared a UNESCO Memory of the World (MOW) as a documentary heritage for Asia and the Pacific region. The visits conclude with Wat Trimitr, a Buddhist temple near Bangkok's Chinatown famous for one thing: the Golden Buddha. The main Buddha statue, made of cement, was transferred to Wat Trai Mitr during a restoration in 1931. Twenty years later, in 1955, when the structures were completed, the Buddha statue fell during a lifting operation, revealing the pure gold hidden inside. Return to the hotel is scheduled between 12:00-12:30 for the morning excursion and between 17:00-17:30 for the afternoon one.
