DAY 2 - BANGKOK: Maeklong Railway, Damnoen Saduak, Grand Palace, Wat Pho (B.L.)

Breakfast at the hotel. At 06:30-07:00, meet with the guide for a full-day tour of Bangkok’s top attractions and nearby provinces.

We travel to the provinces of Samut Songkhram and Ratchaburi, about 100 km from Bangkok. Our first stop is the Maeklong Railway Market, also known as Hoop Rom Market or Siang Tai Market (“life-risking market”). This unique market is located directly on a railway track, and the vendors quickly move their stalls whenever a train passes through.

Next, we visit the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. After a 30-minute long-tail boat ride through narrow canals, we reach this iconic floating market, where vendors sell fresh produce, street food, and souvenirs from wooden boats.

At 11:00 AM, we return to Bangkok with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we visit the Grand Palace, founded in 1782, home to royal halls, government offices, and the revered Emerald Buddha Temple. Covering 218,000 square meters, the complex is surrounded by 1,900 meters of walls.

Next, we visit Wat Pho, one of the most important Buddhist temples in Bangkok, famous for its 46-meter-long Reclining Buddha. Wat Pho is also home to Thailand’s first school of traditional Thai massage and was designated a UNESCO Memory of the World (MOW) site in 2008.

Return to the hotel by 5:00-5:30 PM.

Important Notes:

Please dress appropriately (shoulders and knees must be covered).

Bring your passport, as it may be required for security checks.

Day 3

DAY 3 - BANGKOK - KANCHANABURI, River Kwai: War Museum, Allied Cemetery, Train Riding, Prasat Muang Singh. (L.)

Departure on a private basis at around 6:30 AM. At 6:30 AM, meet your guide and depart for Kanchanaburi, arriving at around 9:30 AM. Start the visits. Kanchanaburi is a city in western Thailand, famous for the death railway built during World War II. The line crosses the Khwae Yai River via the Death Railway Bridge. Exhibits at the JEATH War Museum honor the prisoners of war who died building the bridge. The Thailand-Burma Railway Center explores the wider history of the railway. Nearby, thousands of Allied soldiers are buried in the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. At 10:45 AM, board the train for a scenic ride to Tham Krasae. Stop for lunch and time to visit the area with the Tham Krasae Bridge next to the cave of the same name. In this area, the train slows to a crawl as it crosses the precarious-looking Wang Pho viaduct. A wall of rock towers is a short distance to the right, with a sheer drop to the river and phenomenal views to the left, another highlight of the journey. After lunch, visit the Prasat Muang Singh Historical Park, where traces of the once-flourishing Khmer Kingdom can be found in one of Thailand's most well-known religious structures. Historians estimate that Prasat Mueang Singh and its surrounding architectures on the banks of the Kwai Noi River were built between 857 and 1157 as a religious temple of the Khmer Kingdom. Later, the temple was abandoned until the reign of King Rama I when the Mueang Singh area became one of Kanchanaburi's border cities. Restoration of the structures, however, was not completed until 1987. The main remaining structure is Prasat Mueang Sing itself (the Lion City Tower), an architecture in Khmer style with influences from Lop Buri arts. It is framed by city walls measuring 800 x 1,500 meters. During excavations, historians found valuable artifacts, antiques, ceramics, and religious ornaments with over 2000 years of history. At around 3:00 PM, transfer to the hotel. Check-in. The rest of the evening is at your disposal.

Day 4

DAY 4 - KANCHANABURI: Erawan National Park - AYUTTHAYA (B.L.)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Meet the guide around 08:30, and we will start our visit to Erawan National Park. Upon arrival at the Erawan Waterfalls, we will begin our exploration. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes suitable for a short trek, bringing your swimsuit and towels with you. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant or as takeaway. Erawan National Park is of great significance as one of Thailand's major national parks. Located in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, the park has received numerous accolades, the most prestigious of which was the award in the Natural Attractions category at the 6th Thailand Tourism Industry Awards in 2006. Here, you will discover the largest and most beautiful waterfall in Kanchanaburi, the Erawan Waterfall, which cascades from a mountain 2,100 meters above sea level, originating from the Huai Mong Lai River. The waterfall extends for 1,500 meters and consists of seven levels, each offering a spacious and safe area to swim and relax. Additionally, you can take a 30-minute walk along the Erawan nature trail to appreciate the beauty of the evergreen hills and deciduous forests. Around 15:00 - 15:30, we will begin our journey to Ayutthaya, with an estimated travel time of 3-3.5 hours. Afterward, check-in at the selected hotel for overnight accommodation. Evening at leisure.

Day 5

DAY 5 - AYUTTHAYA - SUKHOTHAI. Bang Pa In, Historic Park of Ayutthaya, Historic Park of Sukhothai (B.L.)

At 07:00, meet the guide and start discovering the Ancient Capital of Thailand.
We proceed to the Historic Park of Ayutthaya. The city was founded around 1350 and became the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai. It flourished from the 14th to the 18th century, during which it became one of the largest and most cosmopolitan urban areas in the world, as well as a center of diplomacy and global trade. Ayutthaya was strategically located on an island surrounded by three rivers that connected the city to the sea. This location was chosen because it was above the tidal range of the Gulf of Siam as it existed at the time, preventing attacks on the city by maritime warships from other nations.

13:00-13:30: LUNCH STOP

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Historic Park of Sukhothai. The park is open daily and also offers a tram service, as well as bicycles for rent to explore the vast area. Main points of interest include: The City Walls, located in the center of the Historic Park, are surrounded by bastions. The rectangular city measures 1330 meters in width and 1800 meters in length. The walls contain four main gates. A stone inscription mentions that King Ramkhamhaeng placed a bell at one of the gates. If his subjects needed help, they could ring the bell, and the King would come out to make decisions on disputes and dispense justice. Inside the city, there are 35 monuments, including Buddhist temples and many other structures, such as the Royal Palace and the Wat Mahathat. Arrival at the hotel in Sukhothai around 17:30. Overnight stay.

Day 6

DAY 6 - SUKHOTHAI - SRI SATCHANALAI - PHAYAO - Si Satchanalai Historic Park, Wat Phra That Suthon Mongkol Khiri, Vonburi House, Phayao Lake (B.L.) 320 Km

07:00 Meet the Italian-speaking guide and depart for Chiang Rai, with pleasant stops along the way.

Si Satchanalai Historic Park is located on the banks of the Yorm River. The ancient city, formerly called Muang Chaliang, was renamed Si Satchanalai during the reign of Phra Ruang when a new administrative center was established to replace Chailang. The ruins of 134 monuments have been discovered within this park.

Although it is not an ancient temple, Wat Phra That Suthon Mongkol Khiri boasts beautiful architecture inspired by traditional styles, such as the Ubosot (ordination hall) and the Lanna style, featuring a teak building.

Vonburi House, built in teak, was constructed in the late 1800s, early 1900s, in a European colonial style. Today, it serves as a fascinating museum house, well-preserved and showcasing the historical architecture of the period.

Lunch stop at a local restaurant.

Phayao Lake is very popular among local tourists and is also an important fishing resource. Early in the morning, fishermen go out and return by mid-morning to supply the lakeside restaurants, preparing for another day of dining, with grilled lake fish being the highlight of the menu.

The lakeside area is a popular recreational spot with afternoon aerobics classes, families enjoying picnics, and couples walking along the promenade between cafes and restaurants. Various activities are available here (not included in the price, to be paid directly on-site), such as renting a boat to navigate the waters up to Wat Tilokarum or renting a bicycle to explore around the lake.

Around 18:00 - 18:30, arrival at the hotel. Check-in and room assignment. Evening at leisure.

Day 7

DAY 7 - PHAYAO - CHIANG RAI (B.L.) 170 Km (Phayao - Doi Tung)

07:00 Meet the Italian-speaking guide and depart for Chiang Rai, with pleasant stops along the way.

Today, we begin exploring this northernmost province of Thailand, starting with a visit to Doi Tung, home to the Mae Fah Luang Gardens and the Queen Mother's teakwood house.

The Mae Fah Luang Gardens are adorned with roses, dahlias, and tulips, arranged in European-style flower beds. Throughout the garden, you’ll find fountains, rock art, wooden structures, and a small evergreen labyrinth. Some areas of the park are also dedicated to traditional tropical plants and flowers, including a fern house, an orchid house, and a night garden. There is also a special cactus house.

Next, we visit the Choui Fon Tea Plantation, one of the largest tea producers in Chiang Rai, located at the top of a hill with panoramic views of the surrounding fields. There is a tea shop and a restaurant on-site with expansive views of the rolling hills and distant mountains. The modern, clean, and finely designed building has a terrace with large windows that open onto the panoramic view. Numerous open fields to walk through and a menu offering a wide selection of teas to choose from.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we return to the city and transfer to the pier for boarding a long-tail boat, which will take us along the Mae Kok River to Ruam Mitr, where we will visit the Karen and Lahu ethnic minorities. The Karen village of Ruam Mitr, located on the banks of the Nam Mae Kok River, is famous for its elephants, with a long tradition of elephant training and logging. The village remains distinctly Karen, preserving its culture and traditions. Today, it has become one of the major tourist attractions along the Mae Kok River and in Chiang Rai province.

In the early evening, we will arrive at the selected hotel in Chiang Rai and check-in. Overnight at the hotel. Evening at leisure.

Day 8

DAY 8 - CHIANG RAI - CHIANG MAI. Golden Triangle, Wat Phra That Pu Khao, Opium Museum, White Temple, Mae Krachan (B.L.) 180 Km

Breakfast.
Today, we begin exploring this northernmost province of Thailand, starting with the famous Golden Triangle, where the borders of Myanmar (formerly Burma), Thailand, and Laos meet. The visit includes Wat Phra That Pu Khao, which offers a wonderful view of the Golden Triangle, the Mekong River, and the surrounding forested mountains. Two large multi-headed Naga serpents at the base of the stairs protect the temple.

Next, we visit the Opium Museum, which educates visitors about the production of opium and its use in the lives of the hill tribe populations. From the visit, we can learn much about the history of opium from when it first developed in this infamous region.

Lunch stop at a local restaurant.

Along the road to Chiang Mai, we make a stop at the famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), one of the many religious sites in Chiang Rai. Created by the great devotion of renowned Thai artist Chalermchai Kosipipat, the temple is dedicated to the Lord Buddha with the intention of building a paradise on earth that represents justice and the encouragement of good karma.

We also make a stop at the Mae Krachan Hot Springs.
Arrival in Chiang Mai in the evening between 17:00 and 17:30. Check-in at the reserved hotel. Evening at leisure.
