Day 1

DAY 1 – CHIANG MAI – ARRIVAL – DOI SUTHEP, CITY TEMPLES, MONKS' CHANTING. (L.) Arrival at Chiang Mai airport. Meet the guide and transfer to the hotel. At 12:00, meet the guide and transfer to the restaurant for lunch. The visit to Chiang Mai begins with its most famous temple, Wat Pratat Doi Suthep, located on a mountain from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the hilly area of Chiang Mai. Built in the early 19th Buddhist century (now we are in the 26th), the beauty of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is marked by seven-headed serpent statues that flank the stairs to the temple, where there is a golden pagoda in Chiang Saen style and all its exquisite Lanna architecture. The view of Chiang Mai from here is simply phenomenal. We return to the city where the past is not just made up of stories and old musty history books, it is a very real part of everyday life. The city is defined by a 600-year-old moat, lies in the shadow of a monastery built in the 14th century, and is dotted with temples built by kings in centuries past. In ancient times, kings built temples not only to demonstrate their devotion but also their wealth and power. The temples served not only as centers of faith but also as schools and hospitals. Today, the temples are still a central part of Thai life, and the sacred structures of Chiang Mai are living, breathing places like invaluable bridges to the past, keeping people connected to the timeless traditions of their ancestors. The visit includes Wat Pra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Chiang Man. During the visit, we will also have the opportunity to observe the monks chanting their prayers in perfect unison, resonating throughout the hall and making the experience truly spiritual. Return to the hotel is scheduled for around 17:30.

Day 2

DAY 2: CHIANG MAI – ELEPHANT SANCTUARY. GROUP DAY IN ENGLISH (Transfers and Guide Provided by the Sanctuary) (B.L.) Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will have a beautiful day at an elephant sanctuary to learn more about these pachyderms, a half-day visit that offers visitors a pleasant experience with the opportunity to spend time with elephants in their natural environment, and get an overview of their history and behavior, creating pleasant memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 3

DAY 3 - CHIANG MAI – CHIANG RAI Mae Krachan, White Temple, Golden Triangle, Wat Phra That Pu Khao, Opium Museum, Ethnic Minority. (B.L.) Breakfast at the hotel. At 07:00 meet the Italian-speaking guide, then we will start the journey to Chiang Rai, after a first stop at the Hot Spring of Mae Krachan, we will visit the White Temple or Wat Rong Khun. One of the numerous religious sites of Chiang Rai. Originated from the great devotion of the famous Thai artist Chalermchai Kosipipat, the temple is dedicated to Lord Buddha with the intention of building an achievable paradise on earth that represents justice and the encouragement of good karma. As for the exceptional quality in art and the extremely elaborate architecture, the consecrated hall for the assemblies of Wat Rong Khun is different from any other temple in terms of having both the finials of the gable sculpted and the tooth-shaped crests. The hall itself is mostly built in pure white, illustrative of the purity of the Buddha. The sparkling mirror glass serves as the wisdom of the Awakened One that shines on the earth and the universe. Along with these elements, there are sophisticated murals by Chalermchai himself that should not be missed. The exploration of this province, the northernmost in Thailand, continues with the famous Golden Triangle, the point where the borders of Myanmar (formerly Burma), Thailand, and Laos meet. It is located 9 kilometers north of Chiang Saen, along the road along the Mekong River. Sop Ruak is the place where the Mekong River (border with Laos) meets the Ruak River (border with Burma). In the past, the Golden Triangle was the world's main source of drug trafficking thanks to its privileged location, connected to opium-producing countries. Today it is a renowned tourist attraction. The visit includes Wat Phra That Pu Khao which offers a wonderful view of the Golden Triangle, the Mekong River, and the forested mountains. Two large multi-headed Naga serpents at the bottom of the staircase protect the temple. Continue with the Opium Museum. Often confused with the Hall of Opium, the House of Opium is composed of numerous antique objects related to the Golden Triangle of Chiang Rai. The opium trade was introduced by hill tribes who had migrated from neighboring countries. The trade is now officially banned and the government is promoting the growth of alternative crops. The items of interest at the House of Opium include opium pipes, knives, opium boxes, weights and scales, pillows, and mats. Besides these, you can also see the delightful poppy flowers that are the main source of opium production. The museum exhibits and educates visitors about the production of opium and its use in the lives of hill tribe people, from which we can learn a lot about the history of opium since it developed in this infamous location. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we make a stop to visit the Yao and Akha ethnic minorities, settled in the Mae Chan district. Arrival at the selected hotel and accommodation in reserved rooms. Overnight in a hotel in Chiang Rai.

Day 4

DAY 4 - CHIANG RAI. TRANSFER. (B.) Breakfast at the hotel. Room available until 12:00. Two hours before the flight, meet our driver and transfer to Chiang Rai airport.
