Day 1
BANGKOK - Rural Canals, Chinatown, Street Food – Full Day (L.)
Meet with the guide at 09:30 for an immersive exploration of the city using local transportation.
Our journey begins with a visit to the RURAL CANALS OF BANGKOK
Departure for the pier. Visit Bangkok’s canals with a Long Tail Boat and explore the Royal Barge Museum.
Once known as the "Venice of the East," Bangkok was built along numerous waterways. Over time, many of the canals on the eastern side of the river have been filled in to make way for concrete and asphalt. However, in Thonburi, on the western side, some navigable canals still exist, offering a glimpse into the traditional way of life. This excursion, aboard a long tail boat, takes you through these khlongs, revealing the greener and more peaceful side of Bangkok. Escape the city's hustle and bustle as you travel through areas where people still live in stilt houses and rely on boats for transportation.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant during the excursion.
We then take the ferry to Maharaj Pier.
Our first stop is Phra Chan Market, also known as the Amulet Market. Located in the northern part of Rattanakosin Island, near the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, this market has attracted Thailand’s most devoted believers in superstition for decades, fueling a vibrant economy of local amulets. The Phra Chan Market offers a fascinating insight into a unique aspect of Thai Buddhism.
Next, we take a scenic Tuk Tuk ride to Talad Pak Klong, Bangkok’s largest wholesale flower market. This vibrant and dynamic market attracts visitors seeking authentic experiences outside traditional tourist routes. Open 24 hours a day, it is an enchanting place, constantly bustling with life.
Staying aboard our Tuk Tuk, we continue to Chinatown, the heart of Bangkok’s STREET FOOD. In a city famous for its gastronomic delights, the combination of renowned restaurants, food stalls, and street vendors is a must-see, as even CNN has highlighted. You will have the chance to taste noodle soups, pork skewers, and stir-fried noodles cooked in a classic wok. Yaowarat, Bangkok’s Chinatown, is a true culinary destination.
Return to the hotel by taxi or metro around 19:00-19:30.
