DAY 2 - BANGKOK - Grand Palace and Temples – Half Day (B.)
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your guide and depart for a half-day tour of the main attractions of Bangkok. Start with the Grand Palace, established in 1782, which includes not only royal halls and the throne but also several government offices and the famous Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The palace spans an area of 218,000 square meters and is surrounded by four walls, 1,900 meters in length.
Continue with Wat Pho, one of Bangkok's most visited Buddhist temples, which combines history, medical science, and educational heritage. Founded in the 16th century, it became the Royal Temple of King Rama I of the Chakri dynasty. In 2008, Wat Pho was designated a UNESCO Memory of the World (MOW) for Asia and the Pacific Region.
The tour concludes with Wat Traimit, a Buddhist temple near Chinatown famous for one remarkable feature: the Golden Buddha. The main statue, originally covered in cement, was moved to Wat Traimit during renovations in 1931. In 1955, during further construction, the statue accidentally cracked, revealing the solid gold hidden underneath. Return to the hotel is expected between 12:00–12:30 PM for morning tours and 5:00–5:30 PM for afternoon tours.
IMPORTANT:
Please dress appropriately, covering shoulders and legs down to the knees.
Please bring your passport, as it is often required for entry checks.
