DAY 1 – CHIANG MAI – ARRIVAL
Arrival at Chiang Mai Airport. After collecting your luggage, our guide will be waiting for you at the main hall exit. Transfer to the hotel. Please note that rooms are guaranteed from 14:00. Our Italian assistant will be waiting for you in the lobby or will have arranged a meeting via WhatsApp. Upon arrival, we offer a self-guided tour to explore the city or the surrounding area, perfect for settling in and starting to explore without a heavy time commitment. You can stroll through the most characteristic places, visit the main points of interest, and enjoy the local landscape at your leisure.
We suggest starting with a visit to the historical center or a traditional market to immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions. If you prefer, you can also take some free time to relax and enjoy a coffee at one of the typical cafes. The choice of activities is entirely flexible, allowing you to organize the day as you like. This visit is ideal for those who want a relaxed introduction to the destination without the need for a guided tour. Our assistant will provide you with all the information on how to get around during the briefing.
Day 2
DAY 2 – CHIANG MAI. Elephant Sanctuary and Visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today we have an extraordinary experience at an elephant sanctuary, where we will have the opportunity to get to know these magnificent animals better. The half-day visit offers participants a close encounter with the elephants in their natural environment, allowing them to learn about their history, behavior, and the importance of their conservation. It will be an unforgettable experience that will provide lasting memories.
Itinerary for the day:
07:00 – Depart from the hotel
We head south, crossing gentle hills, forests, and local agricultural areas, for a journey of about 1.5 hours to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.
08:30 – Arrival at the Elephant Sanctuary
Upon arrival, we will be welcomed by the sanctuary staff and have the opportunity to change into traditional Karen clothing, worn by members of the local community.
09:00 – Meeting with the elephants
The most exciting moment of the day: feeding, interacting with, and playing with the elephants in a safe and natural environment, learning about their behavior and history. You will also have the chance to take unforgettable photos with these gentle giants.
09:45 – Mud Spa with the elephants
A unique experience: we will apply healing mud to the elephants’ skin, a natural treatment that protects them from insects and keeps them cool.
10:30 – Bathing the elephants in the river
After the mud spa, we will accompany the elephants to the river for a refreshing bath, helping them wash and playing with them in the water.
11:30 – Lunch and farewell to the elephants
After the elephant experience, we will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at the sanctuary. Then, it will be time to say goodbye to our new friends and depart.
12:00 – Return to Chiang Mai
We leave the sanctuary and start the 1.5-hour journey back to Chiang Mai.
Afternoon: Visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
In the afternoon, we complete the day with a visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the most iconic temple in Chiang Mai, located on top of a mountain with a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the surrounding hills.
Built in the early 19th Buddhist century (currently in the 26th Buddhist century), the temple is famous for its golden pagoda in Chiang Saen style, surrounded by refined architecture typical of Lanna style. To reach the temple, you must climb a staircase of 309 steps, flanked by imposing seven-headed Naga statues, which give the place a mystical atmosphere.
From the temple’s panoramic terrace, the view of Chiang Mai is simply breathtaking, especially in the afternoon when the sun illuminates the mountains and valleys below.
16:30 approx. – Return to the hotel and time to relax.
Day 3
DAY 3: CHIANG MAI – DOI INTHANON – FULL DAY WITH LUNCH & TREKKING
Known as "The Roof of Thailand," Doi Inthanon National Park covers an area of 482 km² in Chiang Mai province, northern Thailand. The park is part of the Himalayan mountain range, with altitudes ranging from 800 to 2565 meters, with the highest peak at Doi Inthanon, the tallest mountain in Thailand. Due to the high altitude, the park has high humidity and cold weather throughout the year. Average daily temperatures are typically around 10-12°C, so it is recommended to bring a sweatshirt or jacket.
08:00 – Hotel pickup and departure for the visit.
09:30 approx. – Arrival at the Wachirathan Waterfalls, time for a visit and short walks around the area.
10:00 – We head to the highest point of the mountain where we will take a walk through the evergreen forest along the Angka Trail.
11:00 – We descend to visit the 2 pagodas dedicated to the King and Queen.
Around 12:00, we begin our descent with a stop at the local market of ethnic villages, then head to the local restaurant at 12:30 for lunch.
14:00 – The trekking begins, taking us to the Karen village of Mae Klang Luang, which is dedicated to coffee cultivation. Following the Pha Dok Siew Trail, we descend to the village, passing waterfalls, tea, and coffee plantations.
Upon arrival at the village, we will have a tasting of organic coffee, traditionally prepared by the Karen people.
16:00 – Departure and return to the hotel, with arrival expected between 17:00 and 17:30.
