It continues with the adjoining Wat Pho which is not only one of the most visited Buddhist temples in Bangkok, but is also the combination of history, medical science, and educational institution. The visits end with Wat Trimitr, this Buddhist temple near Bangkok Chinatown is famous for one thing: the golden Buddha. The story goes that in 1931 there was a restoration that took place at Wat Phraya Krai in the Yannawa district. The main Buddha statue, which was made of concrete, was then transferred to Wat Trai Mitr, which was also undergoing a major renovation and expansion. Twenty years later, in 1955, when the structures were completed, the Buddha statue was moved to be set in one of the buildings.
